About The Artist

Gabriel Sharp, born in 2001 in Hertzliya, Israel, relocated to the United States in 2013. The weathered looks and textures found in Israel and the surrounding areas is what kickstarted the inspiration in his work today. In 2024 he received his BFA from Kalamazoo College with a Major/Concentration in Pottery/Ceramics. Currently Gabriel’s ceramic work is deeply inspired by the natural world using found materials traditional methods of production and draws from concepts such as Ikebana, Traditional Shigaraki wares, and Wabi Sabi. Notable exhibitions include showcases at the Black Arts & Cultural Center in Kalamazoo (2023), the Summer Ceramics Exhibition (2022), and a solo exhibition titled "Embracing Nature's Touch" (2024) at the Fine Arts Building, reflecting a year-long journey of research and creation. Gabriel's work uniquely intertwines his cultural experiences, artistic vision, and profound connection with the natural world.
